Reservoir oriented courses
Are you satisfied with the Geomodelling courses you attended in the past?
The purpose of attending a Geomodelling course should be:
Improve and Enrich
Improve so you perform better on your day to day Geomodelling duties
Enrich so you learn new workflows and practices enhancing your Geomodelling capabilities
The Geomodelling learning process is a cycle between two phases: Gain and Consolidation
Gaining new capabilities by learning new workflows: This is typically what you would expect from a training course
Consolidate new capabilities by regular practicing : This is typically done on your day to day job
The course offerings available in today’s market are unfortunately not meeting the expectation, mostly because:
- The courses are commercially driven
- The focus is on “pushing the buttons” rather than explaining the science and reasoning behind the buttons
- The courses cost a hefty premium
- The courses are fragmented on purpose so that getting the full picture means attending several sub standard courses targeting single topics (example: structural modelling, workflow manager, property modelling, etc…)
- The courses are not effective and made of a majority of irrelevant information for too few key takeaways
If you want to be proficient in Geomodelling (being able to build robust and predictive static reservoir models) by attending this type of courses, the learning curve is going to be long, flattening out and involve many repeats of the same courses (more money spent). In the end, your learning journey and proficiency objectives will heavily rely on self-learning and the capacity to fill your gaps by yourself.
Reaching an acceptable proficiency level is certainly not a given.
At GeomodL International, our own experience made us realize that this type of learning is simply inefficient and ineffective.
We have designed our courses following a user to user approach, placing value as first driver. Our focus is set on transmitting our know-how, best practices and known pitfalls that make us leaders in Geomodelling.
During our courses, we take pride in explaining the science, the reasoning and the potential limitations behind every of our workflows and practices.
Our courses focus on boosting your Geomodelling capabilities and guarantee that you will be able to apply what you have learnt right after attending the course.
Our course offerings combine all the essentials Geomodelling workflows and are platform specific.
At GeomodL International, we have curtailed our course to 3 levels:
– Starter
– State of the Art
– Next level
Starter course:
Designed for neo-Geomodellers. The focus is set on learning the principal commands of the Geomodelling software and gaining the ability to perform essential tasks the right way (making a surface, using the workflow manager, correlating wells, building a simple static model) so you can start your Geomodelling journey with confidence.
State of the art:
Designed for emerging Geomodellers with good commands on the software and an overall understanding of the Geomodelling process. The focus is set on acquiring the best practices and avoiding the known pitfalls to produce faster, more complete and superior geomodels.
Reaching the next level:
Designed for experienced Geomodellers with a thorough understanding of the Geomodelling process. The focus is set on filling the gaps by acquiring the complex workflows necessary to optimize the use of the static modelling tool, maximizing quality and ultimately addressing business decisions in the most comprehensive fashion.
